Message from the Secretary

It has now been a full year since I assumed the position as Administrator and Chief Executive Officer of the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA). It is a significant and challenging responsibility entrusted to me by our current President, His Excellency Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., for which I am extremely grateful and humbled, acknowledging his leadership that echoes the greatness of his father.

Before any accolades and well-wishes, I must credit my father, Juan Ponce Enrile. His vision and love for a province he embraced since childhood led to the creation of Republic Act 7922, establishing CEZA—not only for Cagayanos and Filipinos but also to connect people globally.

Over the past year, we embarked on our journey to future-proof Cagayan. Our vision aims to attract more investments, ensure the sustainability of our natural resources, and improve the quality of life not only for the people of Cagayan but for all Filipinos. The dedicated men and women of CEZA have worked tirelessly to support me in laying the essential foundations to achieve this goal, and for that, I am deeply grateful to each of them.

The Cagayan Special Economic Zone and Freeport (CSEZFP), with its vast territories of land, air, and sea, and the industrious character of all Cagayanos, are timeless treasures shaped by an omniscient being whose love for his people is evident through the wonders of nature. Let us be grateful and united under this universal truth. However, like all organizations, skeptics will always exist. Let us not be like them. Instead, I ask you to join me in this exciting journey with love, understanding, and a wholehearted resolve to improve CEZA this time around. I want to be clear: there will be no corruption in CEZA as long as I am the Administrator. I hope that even when I am gone, my successors will uphold this principle. We can achieve this, but we must work together.

Finally, since much has been given to us, much more is expected. Therefore, I urge you to stay the course with me as we reach new heights and tackle more challenges. May our beginnings, forged a year ago, see no end in sight.
