CEZA Supports 3,985 Students in Brigada Eskwela 2024

The Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) once again answered the call for Bayanihan by promoting school-community partnerships in preparation for the school opening through Brigada Eskwela 2024. From July 24 to August 19, 2024, CEZA led the distribution of school supplies to 3,985 students across 19 public elementary schools in Sta. Ana, Cagayan. This initiative was made possible through the generous sponsorship of CEZA locators, including North Cagayan Gaming and Amusement Corporation, KAIJU Technology Corporation, and the Santa Ana Traveler’s Club.

Brigada Eskwela, a nationwide program led by the Department of Education (DepEd), rallies various stakeholders to contribute to the upkeep and improvement of public schools in anticipation of the upcoming academic year. This year, CEZA expanded its participation by collaborating with its partners to provide essential school materials such as bags, notebooks, pencils, paper pads, sharpeners, coloring books, pencil cases, and more.

The initiative was warmly welcomed by the community, with teachers, school administrators, students, and parents expressing heartfelt gratitude during the distribution. Many parents noted that these supplies would significantly ease their financial burden, as they no longer needed to purchase these items themselves. Officers of the Municipal Federation of Parents-Teachers Associations also voiced their appreciation, thanking CEZA and Secretary Katrina Ponce Enrile for their annual efforts. “CEZA’s consistent support ensures our children have the tools they need to learn and succeed,” they said.

Supporting education has long been a core agenda under CEZA’s Lingkod-CEZA Program, aimed at promoting human development and accelerating progress in the community. These efforts also embody the spirit of Bayanihan, demonstrating the impact of public-private partnerships in fostering community growth.
