Two job fairs were simultaneously facilitated by the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) on August 25, 2022 in the towns of Gonzaga and Carig, Tuguegarao City, both in Cagayan Province.

In partnership with the Local Government Unit of Gonzaga, Cagayan, the first event was conducted at Gonzaga Municipal Gymnasium where 120 applicants from the municipality of Gonzaga and neighboring towns participated. This recruitment activity was initiated to provide the manpower requirements of Pacific Solutions Management and Consultancy Services Incorporated, a CEZA-registered enterprise.

From this recruitment activity, around 93 applicants are expected to be hired upon preliminary interview. The list of job vacancies posted and applied for included Casino Model Dealer, Administrative Assistant, Human Resource Staff, IT Support, Assistant Pit Boss, Pit Boss, Surveillance Officer, Card Shuffler, Nurse, and Customer Service Representative, among others.

Meanwhile, the second event was held at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Office in Carig, Tuguegarao City. The recruitment activity was part of CEZA’s support to TESDA’s activity called World Café of Opportunities (WCO), which was conducted in commemoration to the latter’s 28th National TECH-VOC Day with the theme: “Sulong sa Makabagong Trabaho”.

The activity was enjoined by 68 applicants, who underwent a hybrid screening process (combination of face to face and zoom online). From the 68 applicants, 44 applicants passed the preliminary screening by TESDA for customer service representative positions, and the rest of the applicants shall be included in CEZA’s Manpower Database.

Skills trainings were also conducted online by TESDA during this one-day event. Special courses included cookery, carpentry and electrical installation.

CEZA and TESDA have been partners in helping the community achieve a higher growth in employment and job satisfaction through demonstrated competence, commitment and a genuine sense of nationalism.

These recruitment activities are part of this Authority’s continued efforts to generate employment for the Cagayan Valley communities.
