CEZA welcomes new ex officio members of board

The Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) is pleased to announce the assumption of Mayor Nelson P. Robinion of Sta. Ana, Cagayan and Mayor Bryan Dale G. Chan of Aparri as new ex-officio voting members of its board. 

Secretary Raul L. Lambino, CEZA Administrator and CEO, welcomed the two Cagayan mayors who committed to support and shall maintain a positive working relationship with CEZA.
“Welcome aboard. Given the vast economic potential of these towns, I believe that with your help and cooperation, we can boost economic growth here,” Secretary Lambino said as he encouraged the private sectors to venture new investments in both towns. 

Under the Republic Act 7922 or the Cagayan Special Economic Zone Act of 1995, the mayors of the municipalities of Aparri and Sta. Ana, of Cagayan province shall serve as ex-officio voting members of the CEZA board for the duration of their terms.

“By virtue of their election as municipal mayors of their respective town, both automatically become part of the CEZA Board because they represent the local government units of Sta. Ana and Aparri which form part of the Cagayan Freeport,” CEZA’s Corporate Board Secretary Atty. Catherine Joy P. Alameda explained. Atty. Alameda added that the Cagayan Freeport covers the entire municipality of Sta. Ana and the Islands of Fuga, Barit and Mabbag in the municipality of Aparri.

Both mayors have vowed to support the projects and activities of CEZA as it spearheads undertakings to hasten economic development in the CSEZFP area. The Cagayan Freeport now opens itself to remarkable business opportunities with attractive incentives and advantages for interested investors that would like to register in CEZA wherein these developments are all deemed toward attracting legitimate and productive local and foreign investments thus, creating employment opportunities in and around the Cagayan Freeport.
