Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) administrator Raul Lambino said the high-end cars destroyed using heavy equipment included nine Mercedes-Benzes, seven BMWs, five Porches, 11 Nissan Fairlady, two Nissan Skyline, one Jaguars ST, 10 Toyota cars, two Ford Mustangs, one Lamborghini Gallardo, two Mazdas, three Hyundais and two Honda sports cars.

Eight Harley Davidsons, two Chopper and one Triumph motorcycles, worth more than P19 million, were also destroyed.
“Some of the luxury cars are brand new, they are not used vehicles,” Lambino told The STAR.

On March 14, 2018, Duterte also witnessed the destruction of 14 luxury cars worth a total of P25 million at Port Irene.

CEZA officials said the luxury cars were part of the 847 smuggled vehicles being readied for destruction.

The last three shipments consisted of seven Porsches, 53 Mercedes-Benz sports cars, 30 Hummers, 21 BMWs, Boxster and Carrera units, a Lamborghini Murcielago and a Ferrari F355 Berlinetta. – Alexis Romero
